Bonaventure History

The non-profit corporation was founded in 1980. Originally named the Claremont, the vision of Ray and Clare Stern, the property was renamed the Bonaventure in 1985. With a background in real estate entrepreneurship, the Sterns built the high rise condominium in far north Dallas before the North Dallas Tollway extended that far north and Keller Springs Road was just a two lane road. A horse farm was located across the street from the building. The high rise concept and location were ahead of their time, as the Bonaventure sat alone in the fields, but became known for its style of structure and an exercise facility that was truly state of the art. Today, the Bonaventure is strategically located in vibrant north Dallas.

Interest in north Dallas' first high rise residence began slowly due to the remote location and poor economy. Bank of America took control of the property and soon sold its interest to Bonaventure L.P. who along with Centeq Holdings, Inc. began to market the Bonaventure. During this time, north Dallas real estate began to boom and the tollway developed to extend up to and beyond Keller Springs Road.

In 1991 when the homeowners assumed control of the Board of Directors the community began to take shape as one of the premier high-rises in Dallas. Today the Bonaventure is a thriving homeowners association with over 600 residents. Most of the 340 homes have been totally remodeled and updated. The grounds and landscaping rival the Dallas Botanical Gardens.

The association is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of five voting members and three advisory members. The property is managed by a professional real estate/property management company with staff and management on site 24 hours per day, seven days per week. The financial position is strong with substantial operating and reserve funds.
